asa.org/about ⋅ 2019 Annual Report 2 We have just completed the first full year of our expanded mission, helping students in grades 6-12 know themselves, know their options, and make informed choices to achieve their education and career goals. Our sense of purpose, pace of innovation and connections with like-minded partners have surpassed even my own expectations – and for anyone who knows me personally, that’s a very high bar! We’re in the midst of true transformation. Now armed with the resources and knowledge to launch pilots and test our ideas, we’re building an ecosystem of experts and allies who are helping us deliver this nationwide. We’ve seen great success using a multi pronged approach that reaches students where they already are – including on their mobile devices, in classrooms, and in after-school programs – to help them find their path and plan for their future. As we continue to implement our long-term strategy to help students explore, experiment, and execute plans to achieve their goals, we are committed to understanding and aligning with the various influencers in their lives. We’re building a rock- solid network, doing vital advocacy work, and identifying and scaling a diverse cohort of programs across the nation. Our goal is to bring a readiness revolution to middle schools and high schools everywhere. Ready for the next steps in their education, ready for the workforce – ready for life. This annual report highlights the many innovative ways we are impacting students on a broader scale and at a younger age to set them on a path to succeed after high school. While a number of our programs and partnerships are still in the nascent stages, we are encouraged by initial outcomes and emboldened by the impact they are already having on young people. We are just getting started. We are not alone on this journey, and rely on collaboration with educators, policymakers, businesses and community organizations. Please join us!
