American Student Assistance - 2019 Annual Report

asa.org/about ⋅ 2019 Annual Report 16 As we embark on a new decade, we feel the urgency of our work. Helping young people find their path and plan for their future is a privilege and a responsibility we take seriously. In 10 short years middle schoolers will be entering the workforce, and we must empower them with the foresight that can be gained only through meaningful experiences and exploration. We are continuing to pursue our multipronged strategy to reach students on a broad scale. Initiatives include: • Launching the next phase of our digital strategy to provide resources directly to students to explore, experiment and execute their plans for life after high school. • Continuing to fund and scale innovative programs that support career and interest exploration in middle school, and work-based learning opportunities in high school. • Piloting career and interest exploration curriculum directly in middle schools to identify the most effective ways to help kids discover their passions and align those with all possible pathways. • Partnering with national, like-minded organizations to accelerate and increase our impact. • Convening key stakeholders and elevating topics that advance our mission; pursuing a robust advocacy and research agenda. • Collaborating with leaders from the education, workforce development, policy, and nonprofit sectors to create systemic change. With these endeavors and more, we are creating a readiness revolution for young people with an ecosystem of support that is innovative, engaging, outcomes-oriented, and most importantly – student centered. 2020 & BEYOND $ For more information about American Student Assistance, please contact Candice Perodeau, Director of Public Relations, at [email protected] .
